TLScontact, a global visa and consular services specialist, is developing a new European technology hub in Lisbon, to support further international growth and the evolution of its digital platform for government services. The company has made 30 new hires in the city so far and continues to recruit for a range of technology roles.
The initiative is part of an ongoing programme that will support the company’s international development and help its government clients achieve their digital transformation goals. Capitalising on Portugal’s growing technology profile and talent pool, TLScontact has made over 30 new hires in Lisbon since the beginning of 2022 and plans to double that number over the next six months. The company is actively recruiting for a range of roles in software engineering, DevOps, quality assurance, product management, and UI/UX design. It also continues to strengthen its in-house cyber security capabilities, with a dedicated and growing team of cyber security professionals focused on ensuring the security of the company’s systems and of sensitive applicant data.
The visa outsourcing sector is currently undergoing significant change. Applying for a visa has become an increasingly omnichannel experience, with a strong customer focus. Building on its existing in-house expertise and working with a network of best-in-class technology partners, TLScontact has developed a modular platform of CX-led, scalable, secure solutions for visa and citizen services. These include document digitisation and biometric enrolment, as well as a comprehensive online appointment booking and payment platform.
An expert team of product managers, working closely with colleagues from across the organisation, employ the latest design thinking techniques to develop new, innovative solutions to meet the changing needs of government clients and visa customers. Rapid prototyping allows for comprehensive testing and improvements before product launch, on the basis of user feedback.
Founded in 2007, TLScontact is a dynamic, fast-growing company that has been able to maintain an entrepreneurial, ‘start-up’ culture throughout its development. As an employer of around 2,000 individuals worldwide, representing over 80 different nationalities, recent recruits in Lisbon will find themselves working in a rich multicultural environment, contributing daily to a suite of technology products that help make travel easier, safer and faster for everyone.
TLScontact in Portugal is Great Place To Work® certified and employees in Lisbon enjoy the benefits of the organisation’s well-tested hybrid working model, combining Work At Home and regular on-site team meetings.
Commenting on this new development, TLScontact CEO Simon Yoxon-Grant said:
“The visa and consular services sector is transforming and as an organisation, TLScontact is at the heart of that transformation. With our digital-first approach, we are working with government clients to develop solutions that will help them to improve their operational effectiveness and that will also offer the best possible customer experience to applicants. Our team in Portugal are essential to that process, contributing to our wider ambition as a company to make international travel safer and easier for both governments and citizens.”
