This new team will develop embedded software systems for airbags and brakes of the latest generation for mobility’s future. Bosch continues to invest in expanding its research and development (R&D) activities in Braga by creating a new software development team for car security systems in early 2023. The team will start with about 20 software engineers, but the goal is to recruit at least 60 more specialised profiles by the end of next year.

“Portugal continues to be strategic for Bosch, and R&D has been our priority in recent years, and we intend to continue. This new project will allow us to diversify our areas of development and continue to create from Portugal to the world,” says Carlos Ribas, Bosch representative in Portugal and technical manager of Bosch in Braga, quoted in a press release.

This new team will develop embedded software systems for airbags and brakes of the latest generation for mobility’s future.

“From Braga, we will contribute to the goal of continuing to save lives by making driving safer and more comfortable. Safety on board cars and in their surroundings remains a top priority for Bosch — although safety standards and accident statistics vary from region to region — and we believe in accident-free mobility. We are investing to make that vision a reality,” Carlos Ribas details.
