The award of the prize to Cláudia Pascoal and to the singer Gaudí Galego, winner in the category of best Galician song, with “Cólico”, will take place in October, added the organization of the event. More than five thousand public votes cast in the “aRi [t] mar Galiza e Portugal” event, promoted by the Official Language School of Santiago de Compostela, determined that the winners for the best musical theme published in Galicia and Portugal in 2018 are , respectively, Gaudi Galego, with “Cólico” and Cláudia Pascoal with “Almost dance”.
These prizes, together with those for poetry, and the one for the Galician-Lusophone Friendship Embassy, will be presented to the winning artists and poets in the sixth edition of the Gala aRi [t] mar 2021, to be held in October. In previous years, the winning Portuguese artists were Capicua, Quinta do Bill, Salvador Sobral, Os Azeitonas and António Zambujo, who went to Santiago de Compostela to receive the prize and interpret the winning songs and others from their repertoires.
