The Portuguese platform BUK, has developed its online agenda by thinking of all the companies that resort to making appointments with customer service (Beauty salons, SPA, personal trainers, Pet Care, Clinics, Beauty centers, Barbers, Pharmacies etc.). and when they interrupt their work to answer phone calls and make appointments, often outside working hours.

After several months without activity or with reduced activity, these professionals are now looking for alternatives that will allow them to have the complete agenda but avoiding the crowds of people in their stores.

“After the pandemic, we noticed that the search for the digitization of the reservation process was one of the concerns of these professionals, who until then had not given it much thought because people always came to the store organically. explains André Santos, product manager.

BUK intends to put an end to missed calls, appointments outside of opening hours and the traditional ping-pong availability between departments and users. Above all, he intends to turn missed calls into appointments. All of this is supported by the increasingly digital habits of the Portuguese, as opposed to traditional dialing habits, services that are not yet ready for the new digital age. After a phase of testing and interviewing different services, the team that developed the product identified a greater need for this type of service in the fields of beauty and aesthetics where small and medium-sized companies, although often managed by pen and paper, are already aware of their weight on digital media – especially on social networks.

BUK already allows online reservations

Service users using BUK start booking online appointments completely autonomously – via a personalized booking page that lets you choose the department, employee, date and time, and even perform payment via MB Way, by synchronizing the reservation with the professional’s calendar in real time. On the eve of the appointment, customers receive automatic reminders by email and SMS so they don’t miss the appointment. Associated with the reservation system, there is also an editable digital agenda and the possibility of accessing customer management tools, thanks to a simple CRM that allows statistical data to be obtained from appointments, services and customers, such as preferences or frequencies of service.

The platform already has clients from north to south of the country, such as Barbearia Bigorna in Porto, Anton Beill Haircare and Bento Barbearias in Lisbon or The Barberhouse in Loulé in the Algarve. Barbearia Ferreira in Porto is one of the biggest success stories, with over 80% of appointments being booked online independently by clients. To use BUK is very simple, you just need to register for free on the site, choose one of the available plans (free plan available) and start sharing the booking link with customers.

The platform was developed by the Portuguese company Untold Ventures, the Lisbon-based Product Studio, founded by André Moniz, André Gonçalves, André Góis and André Santos, a team that already has extensive experience in the world of Portuguese startups.
