The Web Summit technology summit will be in person this year in Lisbon, after the 2020 edition took place entirely online, announced today the executive president and co-founder, Paddy Cosgrave.
The Web Summit “received a ‘green light’ and will take place in person in Lisbon in November. See you all in Portugal,” said Cosgrave, in a message on the social network Twitter. The event, which takes place at the Altice Arena, in Lisbon, will take place between 1st and 4th November. Comedian Amy Poehler, Microsoft President Brad Smith, European Commissioner Margrethe Vestager and footballer Gerard Pique will join more than 1,000 speakers, around 1,250 startups, 1,500 journalists and more than 700 investors, at a summit where topics such as technology and society, among others, will be discussed, according to the organisation. “We couldn’t be more excited to go back in person. Seeing people and connecting again in person, safely, and reliving the magic of face-to-face interactions will be amazing,” Cosgrave said in a statement. “Live events are coming back all over the world,” he added.
